Marriage questions between B1/B2 and F1 visa
Hello,
(I am sorry if it is not the right topic forum for this thread, but I wasn't sure)
My girlfriend and I are thinking bout getting married with the coming year and I have questions related to it.
I will first indicate that I am student under a F1 Visa and she is under a B1/B2 visa coming from time to time in US for work purposes and to visit me too.
1. I am first wondering if we are legally allowed to get married in US ? I guess we are allowed to have a wedding ceremony in US, but I am here talking about signing legal wedding certificate. We are both from different countries and this will definitely be really convenient for us.
2. Then, I am wondering if once married, she will have to renew her visa, with new last name, or even if she get in trouble with immigration. I read many posts indicating that getting married under a B1 visa is not recommended but those posts mainly talked about getting married to a US citizen/ or green card older, which I am not(F1 visa)
3. Finally, related to the previous question, she is planning to apply to graduate school in US next year (for Fall 2017) and will therefore ask for a F1 visa. I am then asking if there is a risk of her not getting this visa if she is married to a F1 holder and has spend some time in US under B1/B2 visa.
