B1 Visa Renewal Denied

Dear Visa Experts,

I recently applied for renewal of my B1 visa to US and my application was rejected on 24th April.

I would appreciate if you could please go through my interview transcript and help me under stand the reason of rejection and suggest corrective action.
I need to travel for an official assignment in a month. So can i re-apply now or shell i wait for 6 months before applying again.

Here are details of my interview:

1) Why are you going to US
I explained the reason that i am going for Business Meetings

2) When did you visited last time
In 2008 Oct

3) For how long you were here
5 weeks

4) What you were doing at that time
At that time i was working as software engineer with YYYY Technologies

5) Were you working there in your last visit
I was in US for business design discussions and Trainings

6) Why are you going on tourist Visa
i am going on Business Visa for business meetings

7) How long will you stay this time
4 weeks

8) Will you stay in Hotel
Yes

I thought i am through as i was quite confident of getting the Visa. VC asked me to give my finger prints and handed over my passport with my 214(B) form without issuing Visa.

5 weeks is considered long on a B1 visa.

I was in US for business design discussions and Trainings

He thought that you were "WORKING" on your last visit. Your answers should have started with "NO", I was attending few meetings & trainings.

6) Why are you going on tourist Visa
i am going on Business Visa for business meetings

Did you applied for Tourist visa - B2?

Unless an applicant is specific about the purpose, those "business meetings" come across as thinly disguised attempts at COS to H1 or L1 status once in the US on a B visa. In this era of cost-cutting, can't those meetings be done via video conferencing? I mean a number of these US companies issuing invites are desi-owned anyways.

Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a non immigrant visa for temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Visitor visas are non immigrant visas for persons who want to enter the United States temporarily for business (visa category B-1), tourism, pleasure or visiting (visa category B-2), or a combination of both purposes (B-1/B-2).

In the above details that you mentioned it clearly state in that your intention is to go on a business trip but the category that you selected is for tourist hence VC might have rejected your application stating that your intention is not clear. Requesting you t rework on your application and re appeal the case again now need not wait for 6 months.

Why don't you invest time in improving your services, so that customer comes to you directly?. By advertising here, you sounds like taking advantage of applicant's desire for the visa.
