B1 visa expiration and renewal

I am canadian taking courses in american medical schools. My b1 visa was give for 3 months and expires end of september. Should i file to extend the visa or if I leave by that date when would I be able to re-enter the country and aquire a new B-1 visa? Also what are the consequenses if I eave 3 days after te official expiration date? I could really use an answer, thank you

There would be consequences if you overstayed a visa. There IS a reason for i-94 expiration date.
