Hi am a male travelling on a B1 visa from India to the US for a business trip for 5 months. I am currently expecting my first child and the due date is on the third month of my travel. I have convinced my company to allow me to go back home to India for a week witness for the birth and come back and wrap up the rest of the schedule. But I was not able to find anywhere in the internet about such a situation. Will the authorities allow we to enter US within a week but well within the initially stated 5 months. In that case what kind of documents should I carry to prove the reason for my vacation.

Every time to you travel to USA on B1 Visa, it is considered as a fresh/ new visit. Duration of stay in USA will be determined by the immigration officer at the Port of Entry, which depends on several factors, viz, your previous stay, your stay in your home country, whether you are frequent traveler, etc. Generally it is recommended that you spend at home country more time and less in USA when you are travelling on B1 Visa.
No one can determine the duration of stay, and your employer must be knowing this. Enjoy your Child's Birth, Family is more important at any given point...Congratulations though !!!
