Status change from B1/B2 visa to H1B visa

Hello,
Now i am in US with B1/B2 visa. I came here for training.

My H1B visa got approved. But i need to get stamping. My employer got my I797 doc form immigration.

My employer saying "We can change status here".

My question is,

1. What is status change means?
2. If i changed my status here, Is there any benefit for getting H1B stamping in India?

Shifting from B1/B2 visa to H1 without going out of the country is called status change.

2. If i changed my status here, Is there any benefit for getting H1B stamping in India?

Eventually for stamping you'll have to go to India (or outside USA). Stamping cannot be done while being inside USA.

Changing status from B1/B2 to H1 is not recommended (though it is possible), as B1/B2 does not allow you to take interview & search job in USA. You'll reduce your chances of getting visa by 50%, if you change your status.
