    Dear Senior members,

My business visa got rejected last week. VO has asked me what is your current salary? i said Rs. 20,000/- P.M he said you are not eligable for business visa. Is there any rules regarding salary for business visa? i am working with my company from last 2 years and one of my college with same salary got visa. Is it necessary to wait for 2to 3 months or can i apply again? because my company in US badly in need of my presence in US. please advice me immediatly.

This visitor visa process is inconsistent ; what one officer will accept the other officer will deny. I think they have this criteria that people with
low salaries have more chance not to return.

I suggest you apply quickly again. Open the interview by telling the officer that you were denied last time and that you really must go for the project---showing the officer a letter from your employer describing the project in US, stating the urgency of the matter and why you are really required to be there. Also have it mentioned that you are an invaluable worker to the employer and your job in India is stable and you are eligible for future raises and promotions.

Take the other usual evidence for a B1 visa eg company brochure, leter from US, some details of the project etc. Ask only for the duration of stay that is really required for the project.
