Apply for B1 when H1 is in 221G status

Hi,

I have gone to embassy on 30 Nov 2007 for h1-b interview, they have rejected under 221-g (Administrative processing is required). This is the h1-b status.

Now my employer is asking me to go to US on B1. Can I apply for B1 now? If not what shall i do, before Appling for B1.

Immhelp, pleaze help in this regard.

Hi Ranga,
I thought we are still in October. How did you go for a visa interview on 30 Nov., 2007

B1 is a temporary visa on which you are allowed to do only restricted activities. By going for a H1B visa interview, you showed your intension to work in US.
So the chances of you getting a B1 visa is too low.
