  • Help on Business VISA

    Hi:

My name is Nandakumar. In a nutshell my background is that i have 2 elder brothers, who are now US Citizens. I have a elder sister and i am married and have a daughter. I am settled in Bangalore. My parents also have moved to Bangalore. In about 2 months, we are moving to flats in the same apartment. I have been rejected student visa ( in 1998 and 1999). I then applied for a business visa in 2002 and was rejected. I am an IT Professional and now head the sales and marketing division at a new company. I applied for a Business Visa last year ( feb 13th 2007) and the consular told me that i am only 2 weeks into the company and therefore could not travel. I honestly want to travel only for professional reasons. Although i could have applied for a VISA after 6 months, i did not want to since there was no need. Every year in February, there is a annual conference ( HIMSS), which is the main networking event and i need to attend this time.

Should i carry any document pertaining to my brothers citizenship?

Since you are not being sponsored by him, I do not see why you would need it.

Thanks for your prompt response. Here is the list of documentation that i intend to carry.

      Official:

      1. Tax receipts
      2. Agreement Copies and Task Orders.
      3. Profile.
      4. Invitation letters.
      5. Confirmed Hotel Booking.
      6. Visiting Card Album.
      7. Prospect list that i hope to meet at the HIMSS Conference.

      Personal:

      1. Networth statement.
      2. Wife's assets statement.
      3. Photographs of the new flat + agreement.
      4. Photographs of my dad's flat + agreement.
      5. Offer Letter.
      6. Experience Certificate.
      7. MBA and BE Convocation certificates.
      8. Photgraph of my daughter's school.

Should this be sufficient? Will they ask any question about my brothers and why i will come back?

      Appreciate your help.

That sounds good enough, the questions will pertain to your trip.

I feel that there could be a mistake in the school dates in the DS156 form. Mostly schools here open on the 1st june and close end of March. I have made the entries accordingly but am not sure if i made the same entries last year.

How do i handle a question regarding inconsistency?
