  • 1 Last question before I go for interview

I've been rejected Business visa twice (strangely) and recently on 19th Dec. I'm going for my visa again on 15th Feb because I'm still hoping that somebody would look at my documents and not the passport (which has no stamp).
My question is that when the VO will ask me about my last rejection, should I trigger the same event by telling that VO told me that I'd not traveled anywhere in the world and didn't attend the similar conferences in Asia or should I just say that she handed over the 214(b) and rest I don't know. Someone told me not to initiate the point by telling the correct reason.
    Please help me....

Do not lie and do not volunteer information.

If asked about the rejection, show them the 214(b).

They have the record of the information on their system, you do not want to lie to them.

PraetorianXI, my question is not that.
I'm asking if I need to tell them the detailed reason why I was refused ( because the VO told me that I never traveled abroad etc) or should I just say that I was given 214 (B) and finish the question there itself.

I said DO NOT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION.

That means, do not go on rambling on why you were denied and blah blah blah... it means, you say, I was given 214(b) period.

Answer short and to the point.

Tell the genuine reason. Normally, not having traveled abroad before, is not the reason for rejections.

                I Got It

Well, my interview went off pretty well and the VO didn't ask a single question about previous rejection. He just checked the documents, asked my salary and that's about it. My visa was issued.
I went to the VFS the very same day so that I could travel on 19th Feb but I didn't get the passport and I was told to visit them on Tuesday because they have a long weekend (Monday being Presidents Day Holiday and they are off on Sat and Sun). Now I've postponed my flight to Wednesday and will goto Chennai to collect my passport and I hope I get on Tuesday otherwise I'll have to cancel my flights and skip the event.

Thanks PraetorianXI! You'd been a great help. I've booked my return flight on 25th Feb itself so it's gonna be a very short trip but I hope that I get my passport on time, I'm flying to Chennai to pick it up personally from the counter on Tuesday itself.
                    btw What happens at POE?

                            Hi
My interview was quite short and surprisingly VO didn't ask me any question about previous rejections. Here's the question list:
                            1. Good Morning Sir, VO says Good Morning
                            2. He speaks my company name a little loudly and then he asks what it does
                            3. How long have you been working for this company
                            14 Months
                            4. What's your salary
                            I tell him my salary
                            5. Do you have any document which proves that you are going for this conference and .....any document which shows that your company will bear the cost?
I say yes, should I pass it to you? (I had everything organized in transparent file and everything was in order)
He checks all the documents (not in detail though) and I keep on telling him whenever he's turning page like this is my family pic, this is my company appointment letter and earlier salary was this much and now this much for which he congrats me.

Then final: I'm going to issue you a visa sir which will be sent to you within a working week to your house address (tries to read the address but fails).
I ask him again if I can collect from the VFS for which he says that there's too much rush but still I could call VFS at 3:30 to check with them and he gives me details of counter collection.
As stated, I didn't recv my passport on the same day and since it was friday, I had to wait for Sat and Sun but NOOOOO, I had to wait for Monday also because Monday was Presidents Day so I flew to chennai to collect my passport on Tuesday and that day itself I had a flight to USA so I came back from Chennai to Hyderabad at 9:20 and went to the airport again at 11. I'm back from USA now and it was a wonderful experience.
