Info reqrd for Admin Pending Status

I recieved an yellow letter from Mumbai consulate last weekm, stating Pending status - Administartive processing required. And they said I will recieve an e-mail for further action.

Could any tell, after how many days we recieve such an e-mail, bcoz my visit is scheduled next week.

Is there any other way to know the current status of Admin Processing ?

It has been almost 20 days and still I have not got any response from US consulate .... can anybody help how to check the status of the visa ....
