Urgent: already have L2 can i get B1 also

Hi,

I am from India and got my L2 visa last week, my wife is on L1 in San Jose.

While I am currently in Bangalore and employed with a MNC, I have been asked to travel on an urgent basis to New York.

But since I already have an L2 can i travel on L2 for my business trip or
should i apply for B1?

Also can i have both a valid L2 and valid B1, request guidance as I do not want to risk losing out on my L2 for the B1.
