221g on B1 again after 221g on h1b

Hi i had gone for h1b stamping earlier and got 221g pink slip from chennai consulate for administrative processing. the visa got issued to me after 8 painstaking months. now i went for b1 stamping and was issued the 221g pink slip for administrative processing.


since i am getting it for the 2nsd time will it be faster this time. the VO told that the process is reformed and i will get it faster this time.

i have been cleared in the admin processing once in the past doesnt it hold good. will i be subjected to 221 g everytime i apply for any US visa ?

do any of u have experience of a 2nd time 221g ?

You have to deal with this every single time if your name is a common name and appears on the database for background check.

Hi Rafeeq,

I am in the same boat. I went to Mumbai consulate for B1 in July 2008. They issued me a yellow form, put my application through admin processing and issued Visa after 3 weeks.

Then I went for L1 in Oct 2009. My application was again put through Admin processing. To be frank, I was excpecting either 221g or a rejection which was the case with most of my Muslim friends.

Its been a month now and I have no updates. There is no way to track the progress. All we can do is wait and watch.

I have been to US on B1. Perhaps they are scrutinizing every other place I have been to in the US
