Can I apply for B1/B2 when I have valid H1B Petition

Hi,

I have a valid H1B Petition with my pervious employer. I have left the company.

1. I wish to travel to US to visit my brother who is studying. Can I apply for B2 visa ?
2. I also have an offer to work for a company which will sponsor my B1 application. Would this be a better option than applying for B2 ?
3. What are the chances of getting B1/B2 while having a valid H1B Petition.
4. What will be the implication on my valid H1B Petition when I apply for B1/B2?

All of them are possible. One is allowed to have H/B visa combination.
