Urgent:B1 Visa for conference rejected and reapplication next week
Hi, i am a postgraduate student in the UK on scholarship and on study leave from work in my home country. I applied for a B1 visa to attend a relevant conference which was rejected on 214b.
I made the mistake of not submitting any documents at the receiving counter when i was asked and gave only the invitation letter from the conference. I have been accepted as a volunteer at the conference with my registration fee waived. However i did not submit the volunteer letter or my school letter or letter from my employer nor my hotel bookings.
I am also married with children. I thought i will be asked at the interview for the documents and other questions pertaining to the above but i was asked the following questions
Q.Why do you want to go to the US?
A. for a conference then i start to explain what the conference was about
Q.What were you doing before
a.I am on study leave
Q.You are a student of XX university and i will be graduating in 5 months
A. Yes
Then he goes sorry you dont have strong ties
I am not sure whether he doesnt believe that i am a student as i did not submit any documents from school
I have a new date next week,is there anything i should do differently?
