221(g) administrative processing @ Mumbai embassy

Hi,

I have attended for a B1 visa interview @ mumbai embassy on 11th June 2010.Reiceved an yellow paper 221g with "Administrative processing.............".

Working for american corporate in india. My name contains Khan, not sure if that is the reason for any security check.
Any abody who had faced similar situation, when did you get email and was the visa stamping successfull.

I have the same issue , Applied for B1 visa for short training visit from a reputed American-French company . I was given 221g pink slip @ chennai US consulate . My interview was on 20th May 2010 and still status say PENDING PROCESS. Guess its cos of my surname KHAN

221(g) administrative processing @ Singapore embassy

Hi,

I have been to the embassy for B1 visa, but have received a yellow Slip - 221G stating admin processing. its been over 2 weeks but have not received an updates from them as yet.

VO told me it would take a week to 10 days for this process but I guess the span she mentioned was up..

Guys any idea as to how many days it would take... mannnn this wait is killing me...

US Consulate Mumbai Yellow Slip

Hi All,

I had my appointment for H3 visa on April 14th and the officer told me "I was qualified for the visa. However, they had to send it for administrative processing." This was going to be my third visa and I have lived in the US for 8 years. It has been more than 2 months and I am still waiting for them to approve my visa. I have sent emails and called them a few times but they give me the same response every time, "Your case is pending." I also went to the consulate once and the customer service representative told me the same thing..."Your case is pending".

As you all probably know, they don't give you a specific timeline for when your administrative processing will be completed. I guess it is purely based on your luck if your case is put under administrative processing.

Usually for B1 Visa or most of the cases there seems to be around 40 to 65 applications put on ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING (221g) @ chennai consulate , and the trend of getting your VISA stamped for these cases is between 5-7 weeks about 92% get it within this time period. If you happened to have crossed this time zone and if you are in the unlucky 7% , then you would have forget abt this whole waiting period (which is tough) and be surprised to hear one day that your visa has arrived :-)

I also attended the H1B interview at Chennai consulate on July 1st, 2010 and still waiting for the passport.
I am also stuck with this common surname "Mohammed".
I am not sure of how long is it going to take for the consulate.

Anybody who got the visa with the similar reason for name match pls update guys.

yes..it happens..nothing to worry....I'm sure the US consulate must have taken your passport too. Dey will review ur case...it means background check (due to 'Mohammed' or 'Khan')...u will get the stamped passport in 2-3 months... all d best

Hello,

I was having L1 VISA interview on 19th oct at Mumbai..and they kept it on pending saying admin. processin...n all..
I sent them required details on 23rd oct..
I got reply from them exactly after 3 weeks i.e. on 15th Nov..They asked me to send my passort that letter and envelope to nearest VFS...

Dont try to reply them as it may delay your process...
If its yellow or green you dont need to go 2 consulate again...just you need to give ur passport n that letter to VFS...
If its white or blue..u need to go to consulate again with that letter and docs
