  • B1 Visa questions and HELP!

    Hello everyone,,

Hoping to get some advice on a B1 VISA Application!

I’m a professional Triathlete and have been spending more of my time in the USA over the last few years racing & training.
I currently enter the USA under the Visa Waiver programme (British citizen) on a 90 day basis.

I Have an appointment on Monday at the London embassy for a B1 visa however after doing some further research this might not be the best option (any advice would be great)
The plan is to be able to stay in the USA for over 90 days under the b1 visa as this covers amateur/professional athletes racing for prize money.

I Also wanted to check if for any reason the visa is not accepted does this affect my ESTA as I’m heading back out on the 7th May and would ideally like to avoid any issues.

    Many thanks..

No, one visa rejection has nothing to do your existing ESTA or other visas, except if the B1 visa denial is on a basis of something which can impact your eligibility of ESTA. For example, if you committed any crime while your stay in USA on ESTA.

Once my B-1 interview got rejection, I got ESTA rejected too on the same day. I do not have any crime. When I asked ESTA whether I can use the existing ESTA, they said to re-apply. When I re-applied, they unauthorized my ESTA. So for me, when I got B-1 rejection, I got ESTA unauthorized. I feel like I was treated like criminal entering the USA.

In order to keep current with the US visa policy, we've decided to improve our B1/B2 program procedure. With the newest update that we will be introducing shortly, you will have the ability to apply. Below is some information you should take into account of the US visa application process.

After you complete the application and you have the confirmation page, you'll be able to schedule an interview. In all the other cases, a meeting is necessary, although of course, when you have less than 13 or more than 80, then it is not mandatory. A whole lot of people worry about the interview and lots of individuals get rejected since the interview goes poorly. This is precisely why we developed a list of the most common B1/B2 visa concerns that the consular officer may ask. Remember to answer all of his or her inquiries.

If you declare that your final intention to file AOS once you are inside USA on your B1/B2 visa - then you might face problem during your interview at POE.

This morning, I had a visa interview for a B1/B2 visa. My passport would be returned to me in a few days once the consular officer approved the visa.

My visa is currently "undergoing essential administrative processing," according to the status I recently checked online.

Is this usual, or is my situation being scrutinised more closely?
