Extension business visa?

I have friend currently in Thailand with a Business visa that will expire soon. Is it easily possible to extend a business visa or the best is to ask for tourist visa extension ?

Yes he can unless he did not violated the conditions of his admission and if his non-immigrant visa status remains valid. Additionally to that his passport must be valid and will remain valid for the duration of his stay.
