Some inquires about my visa status

My visa processing for a B1 visa in Ottawa is as follows:
1- 28-10-2021 interview. I got 221g section paper, and he instructed me to email him additional documents.
2- 3-11-2021. After I sent the additional documents, I got an email that instructed me to send my passport back to them. I sent it using Canada post, and it was delivered on 4-11-2021.
3- The status was refused until 29-11-2021. Now it is converted to administrative processing.

I got confused because they told me to send my passport, and after three weeks I put in administrative processing. I don't know what is the next steps or when? Also, I don't know why I put in administrative processing after sending my passport.

Can you help me?

You will never know why your case was sent to AP....could be a similar named bad guy, travel history...but since the AP is not exclusively dealt with by the DoS, other agencies can take a lot of time with little communications.

Answer: Because consulate need some time to review your case for adjudication. During that time, you could see the status as Administrative Processing only. As other Member mentioned, you will not know why they have put your case under Administrative Processing.
But, It might be the reason they work on your visa application still.
And you can keep tracking your status. Hopefully you will get the status very soon.

I am permanent resident of CANADA. I have applied for USA VISA for trucking & i gave my interview on DECEMBER 03, 2021 & they said my visa has been approved & they kept my passport. On DECEMBER 06,2021 i got my passport but without VISA sticker nd there was no letter in the courier. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
