  • B1/B2 visa interview second attempt

    Hi All,
I have my B1/B2 interview scheduled soon as I need to travel for 5 day training and workshop in my US office . I was rejected in 2017 December as I couldnt showcase strong ties to my home country.
Can you guys please help me how to present my reasons that my circumstances have changed now? By the way as compared to 2017, now I am married, have bought an apartment in Hyderabad and also taking care of my parents where my father is a cancer patient.
Please help me in framing my answer. Also let me know if I should mention my financial information as well in DS 160 in the section of visa denial reason?
    Thanks in advance !!

Do you really know why your earlier visa application was rejected? If no, mention you do not know.

Your circumstances changes are all good & positive for your visa application.

All your answers should be "the truth", explain the real reason for your travel & your visa will be approved. Workshop in USA can be proved with an invitation letter from your USA office.

Libra_14 Yes I was handed over a document 214b. I have mentioned I was rejected as per document 214b but now my circumstances have changed.

214B means - you did not establish eligibility for the visa category being applied for or overcome the presumption of being an intending immigrant.

Since your circumstances are changed, you can reapply & try to convince VO that you won't immigrate to USA & your surely return after your short visit.

Certainly, presenting a strong case for your B1/B2 visa interview is crucial. The key is to demonstrate strong ties to your home country, which can include family, property, and financial commitments.

Certainly, here's a suggested approach to presenting your reasons for strong ties to your home country during your B1/B2 visa interview:
            1. Highlight your marital status and family responsibilities: Emphasize your commitment to your family by mentioning your marriage and your role in caring for your father, who is a cancer patient. This demonstrates your strong social ties to India and your intention to return home after your training.
            2. Provide evidence of property ownership: Bring copies of the property ownership documents for your apartment in Hyderabad. This physical evidence solidifies your financial stability and ties to India.
            3. Demonstrate financial independence: Be prepared to present documentation of your financial stability, such as bank statements, salary slips, or proof of any investments. This shows that you have the means to support yourself in India and are not seeking to stay in the US permanently.
            4. Explain your employment situation: Clearly articulate your current employment status, including your job title, company name, and length of service. Mention any plans for career advancement in India to reinforce your long-term commitment to your home country.
            5. Address your prior visa rejection: Briefly acknowledge your previous visa denial but emphasize that your circumstances have significantly changed since then. Explain how your marriage, property ownership, family responsibilities, and financial stability firmly anchor you to India.

Regarding mentioning financial information in the DS-160: It's not mandatory to include detailed financial information in the DS-160 form. However, you can provide a general overview of your financial status, including your source of income and any significant assets. This can help establish your financial stability and ties to India.

During the interview, be confident, polite, and well-prepared to answer the consular officer's questions. Convey your enthusiasm for the training program but also emphasize your strong ties to India and your intention to return home. By demonstrating your strong ties and addressing the concerns from your previous application, you increase your chances of obtaining
