Do we need client's inviation letter to re-enter US with unexpired B1 Visa?

Hi,

Can anybody advise whether I should take an invitation letter from our US client to re-enter US with my existing US Multiple Entry B1 Visa. Do the CBP officer ask for invitation letter during the port of entry immigration at US.

My B1 visa only expires in year 2020.

That depends upon the purpose of your visit.

If you are visitng that client, you may be asked for some proof.
