Apply for B1 while H1b decision is pending

I attended H1B visa interview at Delhi ON 16JUN 2011 and got greenslip. I am waiting for my employer to send me all docs asked in greenslip. I hope to get them bythis week and will submit them next week.

Meanwhile my current employer in India wants me to appear for B1 interview on 20july 2011.My question is, should i go for B1 interview while my H1b case is pending? Will it affect my H1 case becasue consulate already has the data that my H1 is pending. Please advise what should i do in this case.
