Applying for B1 while GC consular processing in process

I wanted to know if anyone has applied for a business visa while their Green card is in consular processing and if yes has the visa been approved?
We were in the US for close to 10 yrs and moved back to India of our own free will about two years ago. I need to visit the US for 7-10 days for work through my current employer and am planning to apply for a B1 visa. Has anyone been in a similar situation or if there are any experts who read this I would like to know your thoughts. I have my family with me in India and they are not going to be travelling with me.

Hi All,
I am in a similar situation.
I have been in US for 10 yrs.
Came back to India two years ago.
My GC priority date became current in Jan 2012.
I went for H1 visa stamping, but got 221g green form.
I'll be going ahead with consular processing.
Now, I am needed in USA.
Can I go on B1 visa in this situation?
