Coming to U.S with other than B1 sponsored company??

Hi,

I have got the Business Visa for 10 years in 2007 with XYZ company.Now I am no more working for that company.Now I am thinking to visit U.S as my brother is working on H1B visa and my sister is home maker.My burning questions are

1. In POE,Will thy ask about the company invitation letters( I can not provide them as I don't work for them)?
2. Can I say that I am coming for pleasure trip and will be staying with the brother? If I get the invitation letter from my brother will it be fine?
3. Any safe alternatives Please suggest me
