About document submission.

Hi friends,
I want to apply for b1/b2 visa.
What is the purpose to collect documents 3 days before visa appoinment?
Does visa office verify your information during this time?

That is the rule and you have to do it. There is no way around it.

Prior document submission is not MANDATORY !!!

The submission of documents is an effort to get your visa processing done quickly. If you feel you are not having all the documents supporting your VISA case, dont worry as you can carry all your BEP, Invite and other supporting letters during the day of interview also.

When you are submitting your documents, the person sitting at the enquiry counter will *NOT* accept any other documents but only your DS160 CEAC Confirmation letter, BEP Letter and your invite letter. Apart from that he/she will not accept any other supporting documents for your case.

FACT: Even when you go for the interview, the VISA officer will "sometimes" retain your other supporting documents else will give it back to you.

Make sure whatever details you furnish in the DS160 form are true to the best of your knowledge and fill as much details as possible about your status in the DS160. Take ample xerox or printouts of your documents to avoid last minute rush.

Keep this in your mind - You are not attending a technical interview for a multi national company, but it is a B1 visa to visit US for some x number of days.
