B1 visa duration of stay

Hi I got a 10 yr Multiple entry B1/B2 visa and got a six month B1 visa at the POE and stayed in the USA for 6 months. Its been 2 weeks since I came back to India and I think Ill have to go back again in a week. Is it possible? I read online that I cant stay for more that 6 months in a year..is that true?
Any help would be appreciated!

The longest duration of the in multiple visa to stay in USA is 6 moths, if your six months is going to be finished then you have to return.

Thanks for the help .
Just wanted to let you guys know that I reentered the USA. But there was a lot of questioning and I was issued a visa only for a day after my return ticket was booked (70 days). And my I-94 was stamped no change/adjustment/extension of status. Will this affect future entries it if I apply for a J1/H1 visa in the future.
