Can we send invite for the working guy and wife in B1?

We are a small business based in Missouri. We have outsourced our development to a company in India. We are planning to invite their team lead for a month. The guy wants to bring his wife along with him. Before sending him the invitation letter, I wanted to know a couple of things.

1. Can we send invite to the person who is working for us and also his wife. We will be taking care of the expense for the guy and not his wife.
2. If it is possible to invite them both, should we print both their names in the invitation letter? or print just the guy's name and leave it to him to get his wife a visitor visa?

You can invite both of them. You can print both of their names and specify what you will or will not pay.
