  • Visiting Canada with in the I-94 granted time come back to US and exiting

    Hi,
    It is nice to have a forum like immihelp.com. I am struggling to clear confusion for the last two days. I appreciate your efforts
    I am in US on a B1/B2 visa for the last one month. My I-94 is valid till September 7, 2012. I want to get a visit visa for Canada to visit my brother in law’s family there with in the I-94 validity come back and leave for Pakistan (my country) as my return ticket is from NY. A friend advised me not to go for it as he did it and at the end had to suffer at the airport and his B1/B2 was cancelled.
    I don’t see anything wrong in going to Canada on a visit visa, come back and leave US within I-94 validity. What is your opinion on all this and what would be the proper way to manage all this?
    Kind Regards,

    the law is ;
    if your stay in canada is less than 30 days , you will be readmitted to US for the remaining time
    on your last I-94. Just remember not to surrender your I-94 when departing US to the airlines
    or canada immigration ( if crossing by land).

    If you return more than 30 days later, your admission to US will depend on, if you have a valid
    US visa and at the discretion of the officer.
