Apply for Citizenship

Hello,

I came to US on June 15th 2008, I got my GC in 10 -15 days and then immediately went back to my home country to finish my college. I returned within 11 months from the day I left i.e 18th June 2009.
Since then I am here in US and working. Am I eligible to apply for citizenship this year in June/July or do I need to wait till next year?

Did you maintain your ties to the US like your residence and bank accounts with your parents?

The USCIS wants to have proof that you did not abandon your permanent residency.

Since you went to college on a temporary basis you have a good argument that you just left to finish your studies and come back. However, I would still consult with an immigration attorney before applying and make sure that your 11 month absence did not disrupt your continuous residency.
