Hello, everyone. I am filing N-400 for myself. I will complete 5 years of continuous residence on June 2, 2013. From USCIS website, I found out that I can file N-400 90 days before i complete 5 years,. But I am confused when it states that the applicant should reside " for at least three months in a State or Service district having jurisdiction over the applicant's actual place of residence". Does this mean I can be able to file N-400 from the state where I have been living 3 months before the filing ? Actually, I was planning to file on First week of March, and, for personal reasons, move to a different state by the end of March. Does that mean, if I move move to another state at the end of March, I will have to live in that (new) state for 3 months and then file the N-400 ? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

If you move, you will have to live there for 3 months before you apply. If you apply now, then when you change your address, CIS has to send your file to the new office and wait before you've lived there for 3 months, but it could take a lot longer. The best option is NOT to move until this is all done. If you want to move after you pass the interview, and you can change your address to someone's house in the same city where you now live, that would be ok.
