  • Security clearance during naturalization

I have a question if a sensitive specialty can cause difficulties or delays in naturalization process.

I have heard that people with specific profession (physicists, chemists, programmers in specific areas) can undergo additional administrative processing formally called "Security Advisory Opinion" during the process of receiving visa, e.g. Green Card.

But what if I already have the Green Card and now consider to change my speciality in USA to a sensitive specialty from that list. Is there a danger that in future it will cause difficulties or additional processing when I will apply for citizenship? Is there good degree of confidence that during naturalization process USCIS does not look at the specialty for "potential threats"?

It looks like during naturalization they make just background check for crimes, moral behavior, ect.

But I really still not sure if wrong profession during green card may affect negatively my status, or future naturalization. If somebody heard about cases where it did, please describe here.

If somebody has confidence that USCIS does not special-case sensitive jobs (like those from the Technology Alert List, or by any other principles), please write your reasoning here. I would be very grateful!
