Question about H1 visa and US citizenship

Hello,

I am from India and on H1 B in USA currently and am getting married to a US citizen (from india originally). Please answer my below questions, any help will be really appreciated.

1) What will I need to do to get my change of status and how will it work ?
2) Do I become a citizen directly after marriage ? if not, what is the procedure.
3) How long does it take to become a citizen ?
4) When can I start working in US again ? Under what status I will be working then (h1 or citizen)?
5) Would it matter if the marriage takes place in US or in India ? If so please tell what needs to be done for that.

It does not matter whether you get married in US or India. You need marriage certificate.

After you get married to US citizen, you need to apply for green card first. Read https://www.immihelp.com/family-based-greencard/

After you get the greencard, you can apply for US citizenship after 3 years. Once that process is over, you will be US citizen.

How long does it usually take to take get GC after marrying ? When at the earliest I can start working in US again ?
