  • For N400 Interview: Would Being Separated Be An Issue?

Hello! Please give me your input. I applied for US citizenship and here is my timeline:

May 2007 Got married. I have a 16-year-old son from a previous marriage
April 2008 Got my conditional green card based on marriage with a US citizen
April 2010 Got my permanent green card valid for 10 years
January 2011 Got separated, husband left for his home state. His reasons: ailing father (cancer), marital differences, and looking for work. He got out of the military on November 2007 and since then, he was jobless. I was the one working for us. We haven't divorced, we still filed for taxes jointly in 2011 (not anymore in 2012 as I put head of household), and we still talk almost everyday
July 2013 Applied for citizenship under the 5-year rule

I am getting ready for my interview, I just want to know if I would encounter scrutiny regarding my marital status. Or worse, based on my case, is there a possibility that my petition can be denied? I am looking forward to your responses and thank you in advance!
