Thanks to the admins for providing this great forum (and please move this post to the appropriate folder/threat). I used it quite a bit in preparation and throughout the N-400 process. In return, here is my interview experience from Newark, NJ on 11/07/13:
I was scheduled for 11:00 AM. I arrived at 10:30 AM and was confused by a sign at the entrance saying that USCIS moved from the 15th to the 11th floor. So I checked in on the 11th floor after I passed security. Unfortunately I did not know that there is a 14th floor interviewing area as well which I was scheduled for and that had not moved. So I was fingerprinted on the 11th floor and called to a window again just to be handed my interview letter and be re-directed to the 14th floor. That was around 11:30 AM, so I went through the whole process again and was called for my interview at 12:30 PM.
Interview was easy. Officer was really friendly and went through the N-400 veryfying my information and asking question here and there. Since I had just recently moved to NJ from NY but had started the process in NY, she checked with her supervisor if I met the 3 month requirement. She confirmed that this was fine and we proceeded. I had received a yellow letter, because I answered question 16 with "yes" and the officer asked for evidence that I had paid the speeding tickets (under $500) I had listed. I did not remember the cities (two) where I was stopped (somewhere on I90 in upstate NY and again on I90 near Boston), I presented the officer with my driving records from NY and NJ (which are clean). She was good with that and proceeded to the questions. Questions were no problem and I received the congratulation letter. Went back to the waiting room, was called to sign Citizenship Certificate and copy and received envelope with Oath, Flag, etc. Was called into Oath room, took Oath, received certificate and was done around 4:30 PM.
Newark is great since they do the ceremony on the same day. It does require some more wait time, but you usually don't nauturalize more than once, so it's worth it...
