change of name on N-400

Hi,
I want to change my first name only and keep my last name, should I just simply fill out the name change in part one? I mean do I need to provide any documentation regarding that?

If you have a legal right to use the changed first name, complete that part of the N-400 to request the change. Providing an explanation or documentation will only "muddy the waters," unless requested.
