Need help in filing N-400 form

Hello All,

I am very thankful to you for viewing my post.

In 2001 I went to visit my friend at his liquor store. As he is busy I was helping him. All of a sudden 2 people came to me and said they are from police department and give a citetion saying "I was selling liquor (budweiser beer) to minor". I payed the ticket in the court and the status is paid off.

Now my question is How to respond to the questions in N-400?

Part 10
Question 17:
Have you ever been charged with committing any crime or offense? (Yes or No)
Question 18:
Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense? (Yes or No)

Kunduruswaroop,

The rules for reporting law enforcement contacts (arrests, convictions) on the N-400 are very clear. You must respond "yes" to both questions, and provide an attachment explanation, with dates and disposition. You may be asked to obtain notarized police, court and dispositional documents during the processing of your N-400.
