Hello - I am looking for some basic help with physical presence requirement for my wife's application for naturalization. She will be applying based on the 5 yr after GC.
She currently has 908 days outside the US. Her 5th anniversary of GC will be in mid March. My questions are:
1. I have read that she needs 913 days of presence in the US. Which means that she should be ok on 908 days outside as her total days inside on the 5th anniversary will be 918. Is this correct and hence she qualifies?
2. When is the physical presence requirement checked? is it at the time of application? Can she take advantage of applying before mid march or she has to wait until her 913 days are complete before applying.
3. I have read that the # of days out side are counted with days of departure and arrival in the US not counting towards days outside. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed how USCIS will calculate days?
Thank you so much for your help!
