  • Tax Papers for N-400 interview?

    Hi,

I got my interview appointment letter and it says I need to bring along my green card, passport, selective service registration but nothing about copies of taxreturns. I see some of you guys talk about bringing those to the interview so I wonder if you were explicitly asked to do so or if this is considered as normal for everyone to bring such copies.

If I was not asked in the letter to bring the tax return papers, should I?

    Thanks!

If your N-400 eligibility is based on marriage to a U.S. citizen ("3-year rule"), copies of jointly-filed tax returns are a must for the interview,

If using the "5-year" or other Naturalization eligibility option, it is a good idea to bring a copy of your most recent Federal tax return as evidence that you meet your tax-filing responsibility.
