My green card exipires on Nov 30th. Therefore I applied to renew it and recieved a biometrics notice for Nov 12th.
However I also applied for citizenship and have an interview date of Dec 12th.
The problem is if I appear for the Green card biometrics they will take my green card and stamp my passport. But I need to show my green card for the citizenship interview.
Therefore I have the following options:
1) surrender my green card at the biometrics and hope I get the new green card before Dec 12th. If not I will have to show them the passport stamp at the citizenship interview (is this acceptable?)
2) Postpone the green card biometrics. In this case I will turn up for the citizenship interview with an expired green card. Is it ok if I tell them I have started the renewal process?
