Hi, Finally am current regarding the GC. My husband is the petitioner and has paid the relevant fees. Now comes the problem. The DS 260 asks for all my information. So who fills it? My husband or I? Please help!!

    • The visa applicant, you, should complete the DS-260. Even though relatives may assist, they don't normally have all your personal information easily avaiable.

      • DS-260 form

        Hi RayB,

        Hi,

I am filling up DS-260 Form right now. I need to know what if I don't have exact date of Educational Institutes (Date of Attendances from and to)?
Secondly, Do I have to mention my all school and college information or only after age 16 (or high schools).?

        Thanks!

        • Invoice bill & ds-261

My approved I-140 was sent to NVC on Sept 17th. I called NVC and an operator informed me that it was received on Sept 24th. I called again a few days ago and the operator gave me my case and invoice numbers. He told me that they do not have my email address on file and the introductory/welcome letter has been sent to the attorney. There was no mention of DS-261.
When I logged in with the details provided, I found that the IV fees for myself and two dependents were ready for payment but that of one dependent was missing.
          1. Is the DS-261 applicable to all IV cases (mine is employment-based)? If yes, at what stage am I required to fill it?
          2. How do I get NVC to include my other dependent in the case? What is the timeline for this error to be corrected?
          Thank you

          • Issue on getting a copy of DS-260 Confirmation Page

My mother went for her interview at the US Embassy Philippines, they didnt allow her to enter the building without a copy of the DS-260 confirmation page, when i submitted the DS-260 i dont remember seeing a confirmation page with a barcode so I was not able to print this. I was told to go to ceac.state.gove and access the DS-260 again then on the very last page the "Next:Confirmation" button was locked where it doesnt even allow me to go to the next page. I called NVC and was told that they do not have access to it anymore as it was already sent to US Embassy Philippines and they do not know why they require for that form when the embassy should be able to just access it and confirm it, they told me that the NVC supervisor will call US Embassy PH and find out why the form is required. I also called the US Embassy PH and they are unable to help me either, they dont understand why the confirmation button was not accesible so they told me to send an email to support-phillipines with the screen shot of the page and they do not have a time frame of when it will be fixed, we cannot wait any longer as this has been stressful for my mother, she travels 4 hours to manila and its stupid that she got turned away for not having the DS-260 confirmation page. I dont know what else to do. How can I get a copy of the DS-260 confirmation page?

              • Financial documents and Civil documents

I just got notice from NVC regarding my mother's case. I finished DS 261 and paid fee. I am preparing the documents that they ask for.
Here are some questions. Please help.

                Photocopies of Financial documents.
IRS Tax Transcript: Do i need this if I submit my Federal income tax returns and W2?
Proof of relationship: Do I need to proof the relationship of my mother and I? or it is only applicable for sponses?

                Supporting Documents; ( Civil documents)

I am assuming these are my mother's documents?
Petitioner documents: what should I submit since I am the petitioner? Passport or ID?

Thank you very much for your help

                • Tax transcript or income tax return copy with W2 forms. Either /or, but not both.

Relationship proof are: both your birth certs, mom's marriage cert.

Your mom needs to provide police clearance(s), copy of her passport iD page, two passport-style photos.

                  • All fees paid and documents sent. What's the usual expected waiting time?

Hello there. My mother filed me for an IR-2 and as stated in the title, we've payed all the fees the NVC required and sent all the documents they've asked for, including the DS-260. We recently called the NVC and they told us it needed a second review... Now I was told that they say that when they have their cases backed up but I'm just wondering if anyone can maybe tell me an approximate time I have to wait to receive any interview because at this point I'm stuck in Mexico and haven't seen my mom in a long time.. Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

                    • Aos fees paid and docs submitted

As i have not been able to pay my visa fees and submit ds260 online as nvc emailed me as my case is under the review for 42 days with the supervisor but we already submitted our financial as well as civil documents. What happens after my review is finished the next steps?

                      • How does this phase change if you are also filing an I-601A?

                        1. The DS-260 is an online visa application form which is completed, digitally signed, and submitted online. This form is not available to complete online until after the $230 visa fee has been paid.

                        2. The Sponsorship package is submitted after the $88 sponsorship processing fee has been paid. The Sponsorship package is mailed to the NVC (excepting for several applicant countries for which scans are sent to the NVC). The sponsorship package will require the barcoded cover page, I-864 form, copy of most recent federal income tax return, W2 and/or 1099 copies, and employment verification.

                        3. The civil documents package is submitted after the $230 visa fee is paid. Contents will include the barcoded cover page, two passport-style photos, original police clearances, certified birth, marriage and divorce/annulment/death certificates (of spouse), copy of ID page of passport.

After all the above have been received and revised by the NVC, an interview appointment package is sent when AN INTERVIEW DATE IS AVAILABLE FOR THE PRIORITY DATE OF THE APPLICANT.

I intend to file an I-601A for my husband originally My application was approved. To meet the one year contact requirement I kept contact to ensure our application stayed open. We finally are able to continue the process. We will be paying the $230 fee and submitting the I-864. So my question is WHAT all do we need to do in this phase and in what order if we are intending to also file the I-601A?

                        • To file an I-601A, you must include a receipt for the visa fee, now $325, and a copy of the approval Notice of Action for the I-130.

                          • Totally lost here

I ( the petitioner) recvd an email today which led me to a page to complete a form D261. I did that and I got another email addressed to the applicant ( my mom who is in India) which says they need to hire an agent, pay fees, submit forms, etc. It also says they need a copy of
                            1) the cover sheet
                            2) ORiginal signed affidavit of support
                            3) Photocopies of financial documents
                            4) Photocopies of supporting documents.
THen it says if you have not submitted a form D260 please do so.
                            My questions are :
1)Will my mom have to separately hire an agent, pay fees etc, or can I do all that ( I already hired myself as an agent).
2)When do they fill out form D260.
3)When do I fill out affidavit of support and the financial and supporting documents they require in step 3 and 4 above are they related to me ( the petitioner ).
                            4) Is my mom required to submit any documents ?
                            5) WHat is the timeline and flowline of this whole process
                            Thanks in advance.

                            • "Spouse" section of the form

                              Hello,

The applicant (my Dad) doesn't have a current spouse. However, the form won't allow me to go onto the next page "Previous spouse" unless all fields in the current page are completed. I tried entering "N/A" in all possible fields but still didn't work. And now I'm stuck. I've written them and am waiting response. Anyone has any suggestions??

                              Thank you so much!

Mother is waiting for passport and knowing the Philippines, it could take a year. I assume we should wait rather than file with that missing for now? We have all the other documents. What about providing a copy of the application for passport or some proof of having been applied for? Or check "unavailable" for now?

                                Thanks,

                                Joel
