Hi Ray B,

This is absolutely brilliant and all your replies have been very helpful in keep track of exactly what is needed. I have a question but before I ask that let me give you a brief background.

- I am the petitioner and my dad is the beneficiary. I am residing in NJ and he is in Pakistan.
- DS-261 agent form (completed) and AOS fee of US$88.00 paid.
- I am now representing him.
- Submitted affidavit of support I-864EZ along with 3 year tax returns. National Visa center has received it on Oct 28, 2014.
They sent me an email saying it would take 60 days as they have too many applications.
- Paid the IV fee of US$385.00. Filled in DS260 and saved it. Before I submit it, I have the following concern/question.

- My dad lives in Pakistan, so that is his Present address. In form DS-260, it asks for the following:
Mailing address:
- Q> Is your mailing address the same as your present address? Yes or No
- And on the right side there’s Help: Mailing address
- This is the address where we will send correspondence regarding your application.
- Permanent address:
- Q> Do you have an address in the United States where you intend to live? Yes or No

So the question I have is – Should I provide my NJ address as his mailing address. I am representing him as per DS261. I am the petitioner and he will be staying with me. Or should I provide his present address (Pakistan) as the mailing address.

My concern is what would be the next step: Is he going to get an interview appointment letter from the US Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, that will be sent to his house, or am I going to receive documents from the National Visa center and based on that we will need to schedule an Interview at the Islamabad Consulate.

Any help on this will be much appreciated. Will submit my DS260, once I hear from you.

You should report your dad's Pakistan address on the DS-260, but your address in the U.S. for the final destination of the Permanent Resident card.

As the "agent," you or both of you should receive correspondence (from the NVC) and the interview appointment instructions from the NVC.

1. I went over the complete DS-260 application with my dad and he verified the content. So can I e-sign and submit the DS-260 online from U.S OR does it has to be e-signed and submitted by my dad from Pakistan.

2. In the form, there's one question about vaccination which is as follows:
- Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law? Yes or No
We have answered "No". My dad is 72 years old. He was born in India and migrated to Pakistan when he was 9 years old. He has all the necessary vaccination taken during his childhood/ adulthood which were required according to the Pakistan law. He doesn't have the vaccination records available as it was taken so long ago. Please advise!

Ask your dad's permission to digitally sign and submit for him. If you want his permission in writing, ask him to give it to you in writing.

The DS-260 application is all completed and saved, so I will just ask my dad to login, sign and submit. On a separate note, I sent the affidavit of support (I-864EZ along with my 3 years tax return) to the National visa center. Do we need to send the following along with the coversheet to the National Visa center or submit it to the U.S Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

- 2 passport size pictures of my dad

- my mom's death certificate
- Police certificate.

Also, please let me know if any other documentation is needed to support the application.

The civil docuements are sent to the NVC after you pay the $325 immigrant visa fee and download the civil documents cover page.

The documents needed are;

1. Two passport-style photos of parent
2. Copy of parent's Pakistan passport ID page
3. Pakistan police clearance (see note below)
4. Certified copies of birth certificates for you, applicant, and marriage certificate of applicant, with certified English translations if not included on Pakistan Urdu documents

Note: Pakistan police clearances of "good character" certificates are not normally required by the NVC or Consulate (same as Afghanistan and Mexico).

The $88 fee is now $120, so you paid before the fee increase, so you can download the AOS cover page and submit your sponsorship documents.

There was no $385 visa fee. It was previously $230 and is now $325. But if you paid the $230 before the fee increase of the $325 after the fee increase, you can now download the CMR cover page and submit the civil documents.

Nobody informs you when to submit the civil documents. YOu can download the CMR cover page and submit immediately if you are ready.

Police certificate from india for migrated pakistan nationals

Hi all,

It's great to see the post as I am also in process of submitting my DS260 application from Pakistan.

I have couple of idea for you

1) Where to submit DS260 application?
I plan to use TeamViewer remote desktop application which I have installed at my parent laptop. I will log on to their laptop in Pakistan and have them read and click submit from Pakistan IP address...

2) Vaccination document?
I said "NO" to this option and mentioned if they need more information. We can prove certain vaccination by their blood work.

My question about Police Certificate from India?
With my father migrated at the age of 30 from india to Pakistan....Do I need Indian police certificate??? [Please say no...as it's gonna extremely hard to get it now..]

You may be over-complicating a simple process:

1. The IP address for input of DS-260 data doesn't matter at all. Using Team Viewer, however, is a good idea to provide assistance to the applicant whose data must go on the form.

2. The response to the vaccination question should be along the lines of: "immigrant medical exam not completed."

3. Indian police records by your dad should be obtained as follows:
"...Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should obtain a statement from their local Indian embassy, consulate, High Commission, or Deputy High Commission confirming they have no criminal record...." or
"...Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying outside India.... " if dad does not have Indian citizenship.

Also, I found out that I have to submit Canada police record as parent lived there for a while....

Is it good idea to submit the DS-260 application now and wait for Canada police record to come back in a month or so and than submit Civil Documents to NVC together....Please advise..

IT'S NOT A REAL SIGNATURE, PER SE, BUT SIMPLY COPYING A CODE AND SUBMITTING THE FORM ONCE IT PASSES ALL THE EDITS AND READY TO SUBMIT. WITH CLIENTS' CONSENT, I ROUTINELY SUBMIT THESE. MAKE SURE YOUR DAD HAS A HARDCOPY OF THE FINALIZED AND SUBMITTED FORM TO TAKE TO HIS INTERVIEW.

THE VERBIAGE I GAVE YOU IS FROM THE U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT WEBSITE DETAILING CIVIL DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS.

YOUR DAD WILL NEED AN RCMP POLICE CLEARANCE FROM CANADA WHICH WILL REQUIRE HIM TO HAVE BIOMETRICS DONE AT A DESIGNATED LOCATION WHERE HE MIGHT BE RIGHT NOW I SET THIS UP FOR A ISRAELI CITIZEN WHO HAD ALSO WORKED IN CANADA A WHILE BACK AND IT WENT VERY SMOOTHLY.

WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE THE CANADIAN RCMP CLEARANCE, AND PAKASTAN POLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATE TO SUBMIT ALL TOGETHER WITH CIVIL DOCUMENTS. THE DS-260 CAN BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED INDEPENDENTLY OF THE SPONSORSHIP AND CIVIL DOCUMENTS.

follow to join derivatives E3

Hi, kindly help me with my concern.
I am the principal applicant and have recently been interviewed and issued an immigrant visa under E3. My spouse and son are included in my case and have a follow to join status already. We would like to fill up their DS260 and schedule their interview, however, in the summary information of the CEAC, in the IV application column, both of them have a Not Available written, hence we cannot access and fill up the DS260.
How can we fill up their DS260? WHAT do we do to access the IV application online?
