  • Detained for public intoxication

I am 22-year old male with green card, currently filling the N-400. I've lived in the USA for around 15 years.

When I was 20 years old, I was detained by local law enforcement for public intoxication when I drank for the first time. Bad mistake. They placed me in detention for 6 hours for me to sober up and let me go with no charges. The University let me stay as long as I did 10 hours of community service and served 1 year probation. Ever since then I have broken no law whatsoever. (the only other time where I committed a crime was getting a traffic ticket when I was 18, something which I paid for and went to traffic school).

How will this affect my chances? What should I check for these questions? I need assurance that I have a good chance of getting the citizenship. I want to work in law enforcement, which requires its applicants to be a U.S. citizen.

    16. Were you ever a worker, volunteer, or soldier, or did you otherwise ever serve in any of the following:
    C. Detention facility?
    E. Any other place where people were forced to stay?

    24. Have you ever been charged with committing, attempting to commit, or assisting in committing a crime or offense?
    25. Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?

Your assistance would mean a lot, thanks.
