My Fiance is a US citizen and me on H-1B...need help on the legal process !!

Hi !

This is Anish and I had a question.Well,I am on H-1B Visa and met my fiance(had a small family engagement ceremony here) who is a citizen here.We wanted to get married but not sure how does it go.

Would it be fine,If we get married in INDIA and get back to USA,Since I have a H-1B stamping?
OR
Do we have to do a court marriage here(in USA) and then go to INDIA and get married? Which option would be safe so that my entry would not be a trouble.Please let me know..

If you are on H1-B why will marriage impact your entry?

I would suggest that you get married in India, and return here on your respective statuses. Then do a court wedding to get a US marriage license. Then you go through through the process of changing your status. If you get married in US first and then go to India without changing your status, you may have a hard time entering.
