  • N-400 Section 11 - U.S Armed forces

The following questions do not apply to me since I was never in the U.S armed forces. Since they are Yes/No questions, do I answer No or leave them unanswered?

    39. If you are currently a member of the U.S Armed Forces, are you scheduled to deploy overseas, including to a vessel, within the next three months? Yes/No
    40. If you are currently a member of the U.S Armed Forces, are you currently stationed overseas? Yes/No
    41. Have you ever been court-martialed, administratively separated, or discilpined, or have you received an other than honorable discharge, while in the U.S Armed Forces? Yes/No
    42. Have you ever been discharged from training or service in the U.S Armed Forces because you were an alien? Yes/No

Note that I answered No to two previous questions:
    37. Have you ever served in the U.S Armed Forces? No
    38. Are you currently a member of the U.S Armed Forces? No

Does anyone know how to answer 39-42 if you never served?

My application was accepted. I just answered no to every one of those questions except the ones which have the condition of currently being in the army, which I left blank.

I think it is better to answer than to leave it blank since they might not accept the application for reasons of it being incomplete. During the interview process they go over the application with you again so you can just clarify your position then.
