I have been a resident since Jan 2011. I'm wondering about what kind of details do they look into to approve for citizenship?
One of the main reasons I ask for this is because I do remember seeing that if I get any government help in the form of monetary value that it can be used against my husband to collect from him. Anyways, my husband and I were on a break (we just weren't communicating , more fighting, and obviously culture differences). I was born in Colombia and I came here on a Fiance Visa , we got married and then we had a child. During my pregnancy is when we had our issues and eventually when our daughter was born, even though he was there , we knew that we needed a mental break from each other. Well, we made a decision to live separately a little. (Yet everyday we would speak to each other). Anyways, I applied for help with Medicaid for my daugther, as my husband and I agreed throughout the break that he will pay for my medical coverage but it was hard for him to cover for everything since he was making a certain amount and couldn't really afford much. I lived with his mother, while he would stay at his aunt/uncle. Obviously we would still be in contact as he would come by to see his daughter, and this really worked our relationship better. Anyways medicaid was approved for my daughter, and then my husband and I finally decided to live with each other again and he said that we needed to get our child off of medicaid. Well we did, and he's been paying for our medical insurance (which is very expensive), yet I wondering if that would hinder my citizenship application process, the whole medicaid. I got approved for my daughter, and also they were given us WIC, yet he told me that to never use that and to give back those checks as he would cover for everything else. It was an agreement we had through our break. Anyways, again would any of this hinder or have any bad implications on applying for Citizenship. It's just question that has been in my mind for quite some time. Any feedback would help. Thanks.
