One of my friends came from india in oct 2004 he is leaving in mar 1 2005 to go to india as his daughter is geting married. What is the maxium time he can be out of the us? from what i understand if he is gone longer than 6 months then his 7 years of waiting to become a us citizen has to start from the date he returns? He has his green card. Is this correct or can he be gone longer?


Any help you can give would be greatly appriciated.

If goes out of US for more than 12 months, he has to start all over again for citizenship period.
