Simultaneous Correspondence

I filed for both my sons and have been receiving updates about their cases together, up to receiving the AOS documents for both. However, I received an email advising that one of the applications was invoiced and the IV fee is ready to be paid but there was no action on the other! Is this normal? I haven't received any alerts saying that something was missing or wrong with the other case. Is it possible that separate interviews on different dates could be scheduled even though both cases were filed concurrently?
