USCIS took my greencard after N400 interview...

I had my N400 interview this morning, i pass the test of English and U.S History and Government, and Check mark on *A.congradulations! your application is recommended for approval.
after they gave me N652, officer took my greencard and make a hole on it, told me that you don't need it anymore, and wait for mail.......

im confused, because i thought they supposed to take my greencard when Oath Ceremony??

please help?it happen to anyone here???

They should not have done that.

They should have taken your green card only at the oath ceremony, as you remain a permanent resident until then.

Did they give you the card back with the hole in it?

They are only suppose to take it back at oath cermony...
