  • Question on employment details on N-400

    Hello

I have a couple of questions with respect to N-400 Part 7(employment details). It requires us to fill in the employment details and my question is-Do we have to provide the name(whoever provided the W2/employer name on the W2) or the Client name(wherever we physically work with the name ABC). The reason for this question is., for example -one may be working in the state of Virginia at a client site(ABC) where as the company/vendor(XYZ) that we work for and issued the W2 may have their address in a different state like Maryland. In this kind of situation, do we have to provide the name(XYZ) and their address as it appears on W2 on N-400 or ABC(client name) and their address. I am a bit confused on this.

Lot of people may have face this situation while working as a consultant/contractor.

Can you please indicate what needs to be written on N-400(what you guys have indicated on N-400 in case you were in a similar situation in contracting jobs)

    Thank you in advance

Your employer name should be the entity writing your paychecks (almost always consistent with info on the W-2).
The address place should be the physical location you in fact worked, without regard to where the employer is located.
