My last trip outside USA was for 286 days (more than 6 months but less than one year). I came back 12/18/2011. Since then I have been in US all the time. I have to wait up to 12/18/2016 to have 5 years continuous residency. Can I apply under the 4 year 1 day rule now?
Second question: During those 286 days my husband was sick while we were in the old country. Later on we found out that he had cancer and he passed away 2013. Do you think I can apply now?
