I have made my way through the lengthy N-400 process and and now on the final leg - the naturalization ceremony
Unfortunately I just received my loath ceremony appointment letter in the mail, and of all the weeks in the year the date I have been given is right in the middle of a family cruise, booked a year ago, and which I cannot cancel
I therefore need to send a letter asking to reschedule. Their instructions on how to do this in their letter however is not clear as to whether I need to send the reschedule request letter to the processing center listed as the return address on the envelope (which is in a State adjoining mine) ; or directly to the venue at which the ceremony was scheduled to be held (which is also a district USCIS office for my state). It just says 'send us a letter'.
I called the customer service line today, and they told me I should send the letter directly to the venue. On this site, however, I have read that these letters should go to the processing center.
If I send it to both, there may be a confusion and delay to my case, which I do not want.
Can anyone recommend which would be the best plan of action here please? I need to send the letter ASAP so that they know I cannot make the ceremony date in 3 weeks time.
Thanks in advance for any insight
